    Problems with historical data import

    I have loaded user data into an instrument that exists in NT -ACN however although the upload seemed to be successful when the chart was plotted the historic data still came from from IQfeed

    I tried turning off "get data from server" but this had no effect.

    As an alternative approach I tried creating a new user defined instrument- Bund2 but received the error invalid instrument.

    see Attachments.

    So 2 questions

    Why is historic data being overwritten, can this be prevented.

    What is the problem with the user defined instrument setup

    Hello jsl12,

    Can you please disable "Get data from server" again and subsequently disconnect/re-connect IQFeed. Does historcal data stll gets overwritten?

    Do you still experience the error when using the newly created instrument? The error is reported because no correct symbol mapping exist for IQFeed. I do not experience the error if I disable 'Get data from server' and re-connect to IQFeed.

      I disconnected and reconnected but with" get data "disabled however ACN was still overwritten.

      THE Bund2 contact did not give an error message this but produced a blank chart.

        Can you please disconnect IQFeed and delete all historical data in question at Control Center-->Tools-->Historical Data Manager-->Edit-tab. Instructions can be found at the link below.

        Make sure "Get data from server" is still disabled.

        Shut down NinjaTrader and delete the following folder:

        C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db-->cache

        Start NinjaTrader and do not connect to IQFeed. Import the historical data again.

        Create a chart and check if the imported data is loaded.

        Connect to IQFeed and check if data is overwritten.
