    Indicator could not be serialized

I am repeatedly seeing NT7.4 crash and give me messages such as
"Indicator (indicator name) could not be serialized"
as well as big red X's across charts and parts of SuperDom.

This occurs when I am literally doing nothing. (Just connected to various charts and one data feed.)

So far all I have done is to restart, clear cache and restart computer.

Assume I need to uninstall/reinstall NT. Should I do the complete or the quick version of uninstall? Do you need to have my trace files?

Otherwise, let me know what to do.

    Thx.

    Hello LG,

The message you're getting suggests some of your indicators are not coded properly for serialization. Serialization is most commonly needed for user definable color inputs and allows these inputs to be saved in workspaces and chart templates. If these are your own custom coded indicators, a guide to serializing color inputs is available here:

If these are not your own indicators causing the message, we suggest removing them from charts and / or contacting the author to discuss.

We can look at your trace file to see more details of the crash. If you are not able to resolve after following the above suggestions, please send your most recent one support 'at' ninjatrader 'dot' com. It's located in directory My Documents\NinjaTrader\trace

The only indicators I am using are standard ones from NT. (Keltner Channel, HeikenAshi, VOL, & VOLMA) Also I have used these same charts/indicators for months with no problems.

Will send trace files from within NT.

        Any resolution on this?

I am having the same problem, with the standard-issue indicators that come with NinjaTrader.

I have a chart that displays two indicators: Range, and SMA(Range, 10). I get these messages whenever I try to save my work space:
        • Indicator 'NinjaTrader.Indicator.Range' could not be serialzed.
        • Indicator 'NinjaTrader.Indicator.SMA' could not be serialized.

I'd really rather not have to re-create this chart every day.

          Hello A,

These indicators should normally not throw errors about serialization. Please mail the most recent version of your trace file to support 'at' ninjatrader 'dot' com. Include a link to this thread:

You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
          * The trace file will be named "trace.YYYYMMDD.txt"

            I sent the trace file.
Today, for some reason, I was able to create that chart and save my workspace without an error message.
