No, NinjaTrader 6 is not a mandatory upgrade but we would strongly suggest that you change to it at your earliest convenience so you can take advantage of the many new features and enhancements that have been introduced.

No, your existing license key is compatible for NinjaTrader 6. If you need your license key, you can select from the Control Center of NinjaTrader 5, “Help > License Key” or you can send a note support@ninjatrader.com with a request to send your license key.
Can I have NinjaTrader 5 and NinjaTrader 6 installed on the same PC?
Yes, you can have both versions on the same PC with the same license key but you cannot run them both at the same time or that will cause problems.
Do I need to set-up my brokerage or data feed connection(s) again?
Yes, you do need to set-up you account connection again but you will use the same information that your brokerage/data provider provided to you when you set-up your previous account connection. All connection guides can be found here.

No, unfortunately NinjaTrader 5 items are not compatible in NinjaTrader 6.

No, NinjaTrader has a grandfathered pricing policy so as long as you keep a continuous active license you will receive all subsequent software versions and your pricing will not increase.
