Hi All,
I haven't found anything regarding a very handy indicator I used on metatrader called FFCAL: "This "indicator" calls DLLs to fetch a special XML file from the // ForexFactory web site. It then parses it and writes it out as a .CSV // file, which it places in the folder: experts/files so that IsNewsTime() // can use that file to tell if it is near announcement time. // // It does this once when it starts up and once per 6 hours in case there // have been any updates to the annoucement calendar. In order to lessen // sudden traffic on the FF site, it refreshes every 6 hours on a random // minute." There are other similar calendar indicators but can't recall the names of any of the others but they're all very similar. If anyone is interested in coding for ninjatrader I'm sure the response would be very positive. I'm just not good enough at programming to do this sort of thing unfortunately. I am happy to forward the .mq4 indicator if you can't find it. -it might be on www.lightpatch.com/forex/ Regards Paul |

Hi Anthony,
There are 2 indicators I found that are useful. First one is the FFCAL which is the older news indicator (puts a message in the corner of the screen for upcoming events that relate to currencies open). The Second is a tad more complicated and I won't explain it as I don't want to misinterpret it so I'll post the link: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=16364 Best luck and well done on taking up the challenge. regards paul |
