Hi,

We have not tested NinjaTrader onthat, so we can't guarantee that it will work.

In all seriousness, all I meant was that I was wondering if there was anything in particular to that OS that actively precluded its compatibility with NT. I have a situation that might require me to use a tablet PC, and I was just curious if I should even attempt to run NT off of it. I was not trying to see if NT had been "validated" for that OS/hardware platform or not.

We have not tested NT on the tablet OS nor do we know the details on the difference between it andstandard XP so unfortunately I cannot answer your question. We would consider it an unsupported OS because we would have no way to duplicate any issues you may incur if you elect to use it.

Default Windows 7 tablet

There are many Windows 7 Home Basic Tablets and a few Windows 7 Pro tablets. An example is the Acer Iconia w500. Can we run NT Platform on these tablets while being mobile? After all the OS is the same as in a laptop or a desktop.

Thank you,

sourcem

Hi sourcem,

Thanks for your post.

While that does sound promising, the overall situation remains as outlined above: this may be something which is possible, but at this time it would be an untested and unsupported environment from which to run NinjaTrader.

Thank you for your response, Kyle.

I would like to clarify, if possible.

Is the wireless connectivity the issue for concern OR is the type of device and the OS, the issue?

I assume the Windows 7 Home Basic is a supported OS for NT. right?

Hello,

The type of device is simply untested. People trade on wireless networks quite often without issue.

found this thread searching tablets, looks like it has not seen any attention since 2009, I am wondering if NT has, is or will be looking at tablets since then, my interest is in using a tablet for touch screen using the dom only, would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions you have on being able to use a touch screen for trading using the dom

thanks

Fritz

Hello,

NinjaTrader runs on any windows system that can run the .net framework. This includes tablets that can run the microsoft .net framework. As long as you meet our minimim requirements you are good to go. As far as native tablet support this is something that is on development list to look into there is unfortunately no details on if or when something like this would be available at this time.

Minimum PC Requirements

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 2003 Operating System

Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768

Minimum P4 Processor or higher

2GB RAM

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (pre-installed on most PC's or downloaded here)
