hello,
i cant seem to feed into NT platform prices for the @EC=105NC futures symbol (this is a custom continuous contract symbol within TradeStation 8.3). how do i do this? i was however able to feed into NT the @EC symbol without any problems. i just cant seem to do the same for the @EC=105NC symbol. i tried typing in the words @EC=105NC next the to the "external" heading in the "misc" box for the euro futures instrument, but this did not work. could you please help me to get the euro prices coming through for the @EC=105NC symbol (as sometimes the front month is different for the @EC symbol compared to the @EC=105NC symbol). thanks in advance. regards rod |

What if I want to use something like @ESZ09=108XN for trading through the SMTP Tradestation to NT email link?
Will that symbol work? If not, are all symbols with an "=" sign after the contract not supported for trading through SMTP? Thanks. |

I believe nothing has changed in that regard, the restriction applies to any "=" suffix -> it likely won't work.

Thank you for your reply. While waiting for your reply, I decided to just go try it myself and to my amazement it worked!!
![]() Here's how I tested it: I made a dummy strat in tradestation like: input: testTime(150); //1:50am where I am right now if t = testTime then buy 1 contract next bar market; sell next bar close - 5 stop; //end test strat code then i ran it on a TS chart @ESZ09=108XN 1 minute bars at night (right now it is 1:50am) 24 hour chart in a workspace that has "NinjaTrader" as prefix of workspace name (the usual SMTP method). I turned on NT in sim mode and it placed a market order and exitLong stop on my sim101 account. Edit: I later tried @ES=108XN on same chart setup and it worked with that symbol too. NT must brilliantly ignore everything after an equals sign.

Hi guys,
Can anybody tell me what emails TS sends to NT for sending orders? order accepted, order completed, order changed, etc ? Are there manuals that say in what form NT expects the mailformat ? I don't use TS but want to feed NT though smtp with orders. Hope someone can help me out ! greetings, |

Hi,
What i mean is, how do the emails look like that TS sends to NT ? For example, I send a email to NT, how to setup the mail so NT execute an order? Maybe there is someone with TS who can send me some mail examples ? |

Creamers, we can unfortunately not support a generic email interface to execute orders, however for your application you can look into sending orders in via DLL or our File interface -

Agree I could use the ntdirect, but want to use smtp to make it more universal as many programs use it.
Found one example; Example of a cancel request notification TradeStation - Strategy Canceled Order for NQM07 Order: Buy to Cover 1 NQM07 @ 1834.00 Stop Market Account: Occurred: 4/13/2007 4:27:06 PM Signal: NewHi Interval: 1 min. Workspace: C:\Program Files\TradeStation 8.2 (Build 3894)\MyWork\test 1# I would like to know what type of ( tradestation smtp) orders ninjatrader can/does handle ? 2# any change someone can help me to get more of the above examples ? thx for helping out! |
