I am using NT 6.5 and DTN IQ data feed for the YM. I have a few different charts of the YM daily and weekly with the ##-## and various minute charts (90min/15min) for the 06-08. Sometimes when I try to reformat a chart say the 15min to a 5min I get the "Loading Data... This request can not be aborted." popup but the chart does not load. The data feed shows connected. I ran a system check with DTN and all was ok from their side. I have not figured out why sometimes it works and other times it hangs. It seems to take a long time to load even when it does work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Loading data from IQFeed could take a while. We experience the same issue here. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do.

ok
How about when you change the time interval setting - I have had NT freeze up or the chart just does not load although the DOM is still working. There is no way to tell what is happening the popup just sits there. A bar showing percentage of loading would be nice. |

The IQFeed API does not provide functionality to implement a percentage display.

All right.
What about the issue of the chart not loading or NT freezing up. Can you replicate the problem? |

Please see below: yes we have this issue here too. It just takes it time until IQFeed comes back. Tick data download could take very long, minute and daily data is faster.

I appreciate your help in this matter.
You however are pointing the finger at DTN and DTN is pointing the finger at NT. So I am stuck in the middle. Are there better data providers out there that work with NT? |

Guys, if you feel DTN is pointing fingers to us then please send me any relevant mail traffic between DTN and you on that issue to "dierk AT ninjatrader DOT com" so I could touch base with DTN support. Thanks

I sent an e-mail to DTN this morning. Most of my consults have been by phone or IM and I have no records to send you. I asked DTN if they had a log for data requests. If NT asks for data but does not get it couldn't NT rerequest the data?

Not sure I follow. The issue is not that NT would not get data from DTN, the issue is that the data request is hanging since it takes time until DTN comes back with the requested data.

I get the same thing. Happens all the time. I often have to exit Ninjatrader or disconnect, no other way to stop it.

I suggest to request less data. As stated in post #6, it can take a while for tick data to be loaded from IQFeed.

I was referring to the total amount of historical data you request in the chart, not the interval.
