Hi...
What is the preferred way to delete particular workspaces ? Can they be deleted in The "Open Workspace" window by right clicking and deleting if they are not currently open ? ....Or...can they also be individually be deleted in "My Documents>NT6.5>Workspaces" ?? Also...I have a particular workspace with ER2 data linked in all windows and with the Dom & Basic windows. What would be the preferred way to duplicate this workspace with NQ data in charts, Dom & Basic windows and give the workspace a separate name? ....Should the link color be different in the NQ data workspace for any reason ? Thanks...! |

1) Delete via File > Open Workspace > Delete button
2) Give it a new name and I suggest changing link color as well. I suspect the link color is global and not local per workspace.

Thanks Ray...
So...set up a duplicate NQ workspace with different link colors . Found that you cannot have these two workspaces open at the same time (that is shown on the workspace list shown below "Default" in "Workspaces") & toggle back and forth....Must close one to open the other....is that expected ??...this will work for me, but just curious. Thanks again.... |

Not sure I follow.
If I have workspaceA and workspaceB, both can be open but only one can be displayed, the other is infact invisible. You can toggle between the two via SHFT-F3 for example.

Well...I have 2 identical workspaces now with different link colors in each. Now with the ER2 one open (& all looks OK) and then try to also open the NQ one...then the screen goes blank except for the Control Center window...and in the workspaces window, the default and ER2 show, neither being checked. Then if I go to Workspace>Close Workspace it asks if I want to save the NQ workspace...so click to save and close ...then the ER2 space pops up OK....and now there are 2 identical NQ workspaces showing in the open workspace list, neither of which will open.
Then deleting both NQ spaces, and while the ER2 space is now open, then toggle to Default space and back to ER2 space...now 1 NQ space is showing in the Workspace window again, and it will not open, even if the ER2 space is closed.... For the default workspace I have a Dome and Basic window open....should these be shown as unlinked perhaps...or perhaps there should be just a Control window in the Default space ??....would that make a difference...?? I will fuss around on this a bit more.... Thanks.... |

Just tried again....deleted all but ER2 space...then changed data to NQ and changed link colors....saved with a new name...then went back to the ER2 space....it opened but recent chart graphics seem to be missing....then tried to toggle to NQ space...no luck ...just a control center window now....but now, if I close the ER2 space the NQ space pops up OK !!
Any clues on this ...??.... I have been known to make mistakes....

Looks like a potential issue. Will look into this.

OK...Thanks...there does seem to be something haywire there...
One more question for now though...In the workspaces window I have 3 shown, and cannot now seem to delete the 2 non working NQ spaces in that window...can I delete these seperately in the My Docoments>NT6.5>workspaces area ?? Thanks.... |

I don't generally advise it but you can delete those and also delete the _Workspaces. This holds the last open workspaces. As you restart, you will need to re-open the good workspace.

Something minor noticed ....with workspaces in the latest 6 5 0 8 version....if you have stacked / overlapping charts in a space and save the space with a particular chart on top that you want to be showing immediately as you cycle through workspaces...the chart you saved or last placed on top, before going to another workspace may not be the one on top when you come back to that workspace again.
I think ideally you want the workspace to reappear again in the same way as you left it when cycling through them from the menu or with Shift F3. Otherwise the workspaces seem to be working great now. It might be nice to have a right click "rename" a workspace function in the Open Workspace window or have some easy way to rename a space rather than saving as a new name then deleting the space with the old name. Thanks....

Thanks for feedback. We'll add your suggestion to our list of future considerations.
Rename workspace: File->Workspaces->Open workspace->click *once* on workspace name and rename
