Hello,
the volume bars of NTV (Nasdaq Total Volume) have an open, close, high and low value. May I ask what the values mean? Which is the number af shares traded at a day? Best Regards Thomas |

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for writing in. Volume bars would always include a open, high low and close but those values are price based. You'll want to apply the Volume Indicator for an overview of trading volume.

Hello Kyle,
thanks for the fast answer. I do not clearly understand how to get the daily Nasdaq volume. When applying the VOL-indicator on COMP or NTV I get - in contrast to single stocks - volume bars with the value "1" for each day. |

Hi Thomas,
Sorry for the confusion here. The indexes you are looking at are, themselves, measures of trading volume - the output of that volume is what you see provided as price data. As indexes, however, the instruments themselves are non-tradable so volume would be reported as 1.

Thanks Kyle. I'm just wondering, why NTV has an open, close, high and low, if it reports the daily volume only.

Hi Thomas,
This is because you're using a volume bar - that bar must open and close at a specific time and therefore would have highs and lows.
