Default Ninja Just Cost Me a Boatload of $!

This is a rant! So knowing that you can skip this and move on.

I run NT7 on a very powerful computer running Windoz7 Pro,with a ton of memory. I run no other applications and only use the system to execute trades.

This am I had my setup for the ES and my target price for the 10 lot short was 1309.25. When I resized my chart NT FROZE (Not Responding). This isn't the first time that this has happened.

1309.25 came and went while I was trying to revive NT to no avail (ES is currently trading at 1297.5 - 11.75 points). I looked at task manager and NT was sucking down 986,000K of memory.

I reset the db and right now am talking to my broker about other professional trading platforms that are reliable and efficient.

So my choices are run NT on 2 computers - one for trading and one for charting; run NT on one computer for charting and a pro trading platform on a second. I think I'll opt for the second.

There is a lot that I like about NT, but it's not what I want in a trading platform.

Hello dmking,

I'm sorry to hear of the issue but thank you for bringing the matter to our attention.

So that I may investigate, please contact me with an email to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com.

In the message, please include:
1.) A link to this forum thread.

2.) A copy of today's log file:
You'll find the log in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
The file I need from this folder would be named 'log.20120523.txt'.

3.) A copy of today's trace file:
You'll find the trace in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
The file I need from this folder would be named 'trace.20120523.txt'.
