I posted this indicator a while back, but it may be easier to find this through its own thread.
I've given both the NT6.5 and the NT7.0 indicators below. Ben

Hi David,
Well, first of all, lets make sure there isn't an error when you apply the indicator. To check for errors, load the indicator first, then look at the "Log" tab on the Control Center panel. Please let me know if you see any error message there relating to the Fib indicator. Secondly, perhaps your default Fib Retracement tool colors are matching your background, thereby making any fib retracement look invisible. To change your default colors (or at least check them to make sure they're visible against your current backdrop), draw a fib retracement tool by hitting "F8". Draw the fib tool and see if the colors are good or need changing. Then, try to load the FibRetracementsOnSession indicator again. Let me know if either of these two suggestions help. Ben |

This question may be beyond the scope of just this indicator but here is my problem: since upgrading to NT6.5.5 (globex migration) the indicator reverts to "default" values whenever anything on the chart changes. ie- fib retracements switch to the mousy mauve and teal colors and thin lines.I have spent hours and hours setting up my fib retracements the way I like them but even though I have saved my preferences as "default" and set up templates the retracements are getting their instructions from a mysterious proto template. Is there a way in Ninja to once and for all for all time to set up my fib retracements so they dont change EVER even with new templates or workspaces? This has really been an ongoing problem since the beginning but I thought it was finally cleared up...sigh...
Sorry to be rant-y but I would appreciate any help. |

Hi Taters !
First please let's make sure we are on the same boat: Please - open default workspace - open a chart - right mouse on chart -> drawing tools -> line - draw line on chart - select line, right click -> line properties - change color to yellow, width = 5, style = dashdot - press apply, 'set default', and ok - in ControlCenter -> file -> workspaces -> new workspace - open chart - draw line --> is the line drawn with the settings you set before ? (yellow, 5, dashdot) If not, please: - describe which action you take, that the properties of the drawn line changes (adding other drawing tool ? pressing F5 ? scrolling). You pointed out: 'whenever anything on the chart changes', can you be a bit more concrete ? - In ControlCenter please choose help -> mail to support. In the 'to' field, add christian AT ninjatrader DOT com. make sure you check 1) log and trace files 2) workspace files and 3) template files. Many thanks, Christian
Christian

upgrading to 6.5.0.6 seems to have solved the issue.

I'm posting a new version of this indicator. It lets you define a start date for the session and a length of session (in hours). If you want an infinitely long session, you can enter a "0" length.
Enjoy! Ben |

The previous is one of the very best indicators I've ever used.
Awesome of you to share it! Cheers, Taters ![]() |

My suggestion is to change the setting on your default Fib tool to "Extend right". You can change this default by double clicking on any existing Fib Retracement tool, then, at the bottom of the popup dialog box is "Extend right" checkbox. Click it and then hit the "Set Default" button.

As has happened before my Fib on session indicator has reverted to settings that seem to be the default NT settings instead of my drawing preferences.
Where does this indicator get its drawing parameters from if not your saved drawing preferences? I would like to edit that "master" preference file so this indicator doesn't revert at times (usually after a crash) to the illegible NT colors. Even manually setting the fib indicator colors reverts at the next candle to the strange colors now. I would like this: fibocorrect.png ...but am getting this: fiboproblem1.png Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Taters |

What NT version are you using?
In 6.5, if I create a chart and change default settings of a fib object, next time I draw it it will use these changes settings. Is this not the behaviour you see?
