Default Horizontal Lines

Hi,

I have three different charts, two intraday and one daily chart.

On the intraday charts all horizontal lines should be viewable wether they or plotted on one or the other. These should not be viewable on the daily. But lines plotted on the daily should be viewable on the intraday charts.

How is that possible? At the moment for me it looks like all or nothing...

Apart from that, what about price labels on horizontal lines?!!

Thanks!

timokrates, price labels for horizontal lines are on our suggestion list for future consideration - for now you would need to add them via text to the lines as desired.

For your other question - are you talking about our Global Drawing objects here?

If they are attached to all chart of the instrument, you could still select if they would be shown on a per chart basis. To toggle, this please go to the DataSeries box for the chart and set 'ShowGlobalDrawObjects' to true / false.

Here's a recent clip we published on YouTube showing this option in action - http://youtu.be/sLiwYtU7EMA

Thank a lot Bertrand,

that was it.

But in terms of price labels, please get this done, it's a just so basic feature. Like proper alerts at those lines without the price alert indicator, which is far away from being handy. And the chart scaling as well. Ninja is a solid platform by now, but these are still essential issues, which have to be solved imho..

Cheers...

Bertrand, Is there a way to save horizontal lines as preset charting options? Yesterday's high, low, etc.
Thanks.

Pocwave,

You can use the inbulilt PreviousDayOHLC indicator which will plot lines at yesterday's values.

You can the save that indicator in your chart and workspace and it should calculate automatically.

Hi,

I have the problem, that I have a set of six charts three for the more micro and three for the macro view. How can I set horizontal lines to only show up on the micro, but all macro lines to show up on all charts.

I hope this is not confusing, but for example I would like to plot a line on the weekly on daily, 100000V and the more intraday lower timeframes, but the ones on the intraday charts should not be visible on the higher timeframes.

Thanks

timokrates, this is unfortunately not possible to differentiate with the Global Drawing object function. You would be able to enable / disable showing all of those on a per chart basis only. In your case then you would need to add those lines for the charts manually.

Could you please add this to your request list.

For example that lines only show up on linked charts or so.

For me to define a chart where a line appears is somewhat basic, like the plotting of the price level at the line.

Is it possible to say if these features will be available soon?

Sure timokrates, have already forward to product management so this enhancement idea could be tracked and considered. We could unfortunately not give you an ETA or commitment though.

Thanks again for your input,

Thanks Bertrand,

the idea with the linked charts also has its shortcomings, at the end it would just be necessary to define the charts one would like to see the lines on seperately.

So that you have 5Min chart for example, and its lines should be plotted on the 15M, 60M, but not on the daily or weekly.

ETA is not necessary, but to know if it will be available the next month or the next year would be good.

Again, at the end imho these are basic features every better charting platform should have.

That is possible timokrates: Make the lines on the 5 min global and set Show Global Draw Objects to false on the daily and weekly charts (this setting is in your Data Series dialog box for each chart).

What is then not possible unfortunately is this : if you would like to show a Global Draw object from the Daily for example > but the setting to show those has to be turned off for the lower timeframe objects to be not displayed > then you would lose the display of this object on the higher timeframe / daily chart. Therefore this is noted as enhancement suggestion, so the Show Global Drawing object selector could offer more details here for a more individual selection.

Yes Bertrand, this is true and absultely needed.

Please also consider a seperate remove of lines.
At the moment if I chose "remove all drawing objects" every line on every chart disappears.
This imho should only be true for the objects on the specific chart, not the one from other charts.

Thanks!
