Hello,
I am having some trouble getting a txt file to import - it seems like everything is right but I get the message "import field separator could not be identified"
Here is a sample of the data which is weekly data:
20120103;100
20120110;101
20120117;102
20120124;103
20120131;104
20120207;105
20120214;106
20120221;107
20120228;108
20120306;109
20120313;110

And this is my file name
COT.Last.txt

I also tried this data with daily date progression
20120403;113
20120404;114
20120405;115
20120406;116
20120407;117
20120408;118
20120409;119
20120410;120
20120411;121
20120412;122
20120413;123
20120414;124
20120415;125

I don't see anything wrong here.
Thanks for the help

Hello JohnPS,

Unfortunately the format is not the same as reflected in the help guide under 'Understanding import file and data formats'.
http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h.../importing.htm

You can only import data that is in the format you see listed.

Hello,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our fourms!

The files you import into NinjaTrader need to be in a specific format.

Please see our Help Guide on Understanding File and Data formats for more information:

Hello SmartTraderFx,
Thanks for the clarification.

You may have to further format the data as per our help guide before importing it to NinjaTrader.
  • Please make sure the instrument name is supported by the respiratory.
  • The data lags a new line between 2 price. Please make sure to add a new line.

Please refer to our help file to know more about it

Hello Nikhil,
NinjaTrader imports data from txt files. Thus you need to save the csv file as a a txt file.
  • Open the csv file in Excel, and then save the file as a Txt file from File>Save As

Please make sure to save the file as, for example $EURUSD.Last.txt (txt being the file extension) if you are importing data for EURUSD pair.

Hello Nikhil,
I could not locate the symbol $GNPUSD.Are you trying to import data for $GBPUSD?

Can you please upload the file you are trying to import as there are several files in the site as listed by you.
