Default How does NT translate contract specifications?

If I am trading the Russell E-Mini, in E-Signal I run the continuous contract symbol AB #F. How does NT translate that to the March 2008 contract?

Thanks as always,

Thomas

Are you talking about how to rollover a contract? http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...sContract.html

Default Nope . . .

If I am trading the S&P E-Mini, and I want to trade the March 2008 contract, the E-Signal symbol I am using is ES #F. How does NT translate the order sent to the specific month/year of futures contract?

I used to used DynaOrder, whose syntax was:

//orderid=dots5.call("BuyMarket","ER2","FUT",contrac t_exp,"",0,"GLOBEX","",contract_num);

Where contract_exp="200803".

The NT call is:

orderplaced=NTBuyMarket(orderid, contract_num);

So where is the translation made to the month/year for the contract?

Regards,

Thomas.

I believe NT just takes whatever instrument you are running it on and uses that so I think you want to just run it on whatever expiry you want to trade. Don't quote me on that as I am not too familiar with the ATI interface.

It done by the eSignal symbol mapping in the Instrument Manager. It should work out of the box to send the order to the current front month.
