It seems that if you initially create an FX chart with Interactive Brokers data, somewhere inside NT the data is labeled as "IB IdealPro" (that's IBs FX exchange). Then if I try to use my MB Trading account to trade that instrument, the trade fails with the error "Invalid route."
I know that one of the new features is supposed to remap one broker's exchange notation to the other broker, but looks like somebody left out the "Ideal" and "IdealPro" exchanges from IB when mapping to MBT. MBT calls its FX exchange "MBFX" I think. I can reproduce this, but I have to start with a new empty database because it's hard to tell which broker "owns" the data in NT since it's not visible anywhere. Any help or pointers would be appreciated. (other than the obvious "restart from a blank database" idea -- which is what I have to do now.) Thanks |

I'm only connected to MBT now. Previously I would connect to IB and then MBT. Most data was originally loaded that way. Now I don't connect to IB anymore, just MBT.

Hello,
Ok thanks for that information. I know that there is a limitation that to trade on MBT you needed to use MBT's data to trade with or you would get errors. This is only a limitation with MBT. So you will want to make sure that you do not run into this problem. Would suggest that you leave the default setting for the isntrument for MBT to use and have it work with MBT. Then to work with IB put in the custom exchange for IB. You would do this under control center->tools->instrument manager->edit the forex instrument->misc tab->Interactive Brokers symbol map. Then change it too: <FOREX SYMBOL>|<IBExchange> and example would be EURUSD|IBIDEAL Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Ok thanks. That sounds like exactly the information I was missing to make this work.
