Chart Trader w/ Interactive Brokers

I am getting this error message (see attached screenshot) when placing an order to IB for CAD/JPY in NT ChartTrader. I called IB and they say I have to set NT so it makes orders go from X.XX0 to X.XX5 rather than X,XXX1 to X.XXX2 in other words every .50 pips. How do I set it up?

Thank you for your post.

You will want to set the correct setting for the "Quote currencies (FX) in:" property accessible from within the NinjaTrader Control Center window menu "Tools > Options > Data.

Please set this property to HalfPip.

I set it to both HalfPip and also tried Pip and I am still getting the same message.
It's ok with AUD/JPY though...

Can you please disconnect from IB and then go to Tools > Options > Data and then please reset your instruments. After resetting your instruments please make sure that the setting is at HalfPip for the quote currencies setting.

Then prior to reconnecting please go to Tools > Account Connections > highlight the IB connection > change. In the ensuing window please make sure the Trade Currencies property is enabled.

Then please close and reopen NinjaTrader and connect to IB and create a new chart for the CADJPY currency making sure that the values quoted on the price scale conform to the HalfPip setting.

Hi Ryan,
I folowed your instructions and still getting the same error message.. I tried other instruments and CADJPY seems to be the only problem. I'm still sending orders with tenth pips though... see screenshot..What else it could be.?

Hi designer,

If I am not mistaken this is a demo account with IB, and so we are going to edit the tick size of that instrument by going to Tools > Instrument Manager.

In that field please find the CADJPY instrument and then highlight and hit Edit. In the ensuing window can you please set the Tick Size to .0005, and then please hit OK, and then test with your paper account.
