Default Interactive Brokers not in list of data feed providers?

Hi,

I have just tried following the Interactive Brokers connection guide as outlined in this link:

However, when I want to choose Interactive brokers from the list of providers (step 9) I do not see IB in the drop-down list? I see 7 others including Zen-fire, BarChart.com, ESignal, Google, IQFeed, Kinetick, Yahoo but no Interactive Brokers?

I have TWS 4.0 build 915.5 installed and NT 7.0 (free version)

Please help :-)

Thank you for your post.

To investigate this further, could you please send a note to: Support [at] NinjaTrader [dot] com ATTN: Cameron in the subject, and link to the forum in the body and your license key.

This can be found from the Control Center -> Help -> License Key

Also, with the current version of NinjaTrader, it is critical that you use TWS version 911. Please uninstall your existing version via the Windows Control Panel, and then install 911 via the following link:

Hi,
have the latest IB workstation, but also don't see IB listed in Ninjas connections, right now I don't have a live license key, just wanted to paper trade for a while, is that a problem ?

Default same problem here

I have the same problem, do not see Interactive Brokers in the list of data providers.
Is this a known problem? What is the solution?

Thank you for your post.

This can occur for a few reason. Are you using a free simulation key or a live license key? Do you see any other broker technologies listed?

The most common reason is that a firewall on your PC or on the network your computer is on is preventing NinjaTrader from accessing our license servers. To test this, please disable all firewalls and then restart NinjaTrader and see if it works. If yes, you just need to add ninjatrader.com to the exception list (safe list) for your firewall software

This is typically a licensing issue.

Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

In the message, please include a link to this forum thread. Additionally, please provide a copy of your license key. (Help > License Key)

You can refer me in your email. Please send an email that includes the license key you have entered at Control Center-->Help-->License Key.

Likely, you have a license key entered that is configured for a different broker technology.

Hello Jason,

I have sent you mails on Monday and Wednesday but no response yet. Wondering if there's some problem with e-mail delivery.

Anyway, regarding "different broker technology": I can't determine if it qualifies as a different broker technology but so far I have been able to trade the account I have with AMP Trading, using Zen-Fire as the provider.
Does this information help?
Can my license be configured to allow access AMP/Zen-Fire when I so wish, and Interactive Brokers at other times?

Looking forward to hearing from you - either in the forum or via e-mail.

I have sent an email to all three email addresses you listed in your email.

Yes, if your license is set to Zen-Fire, you will not see IB listed as a provider when creating a connection.

We can switch your license key to a different broker technology. Please send an email to sales[at]ninjatrader[dot]com if you like to switch.
