Hello,
I am a live license key holder (using version 6.5.1000.19), connected to Interactive Brokers (using version 911). I justed placed 2 orders, each as market order from charting window. First order: BUY 1 Contract CL 03-11 (IB Symbol: CLH1) Second order: SELL 1 Contract CL 04-11 (IB Symbol: CLJ1) The problem is: In the charts now I see my BUY order in CL 02-11, the sell order is shown in CL 03-11! I placed the orders definitily as described above. In IBs Trader Workstation both orders appear in the correct symbol: 1 Contract long in CLH1, 1 contract short in CLJ1. In Ninja trader > Control center > Orders also both orders are shown in the correct way. Please view the attached screenshots. If I want to cancel both orders at the same time (probably this evening or tomorrow), how should I proceed safely? Can I use IB Workstation with the command "Close all oders"? What happens to the Ninja Trader engine? Will both trades be marked as closed in that way? I do not want to use Ninja traders action "Control Center > File > Flatten everything", because I do not trust because of the open positions in the charts. Please help, best regards, Andreas from Germany. |

Hello Andreas,
Sorry to hear of this. The underlying issue you are experiencing is a related to an error in the IB API we use to connect NinjaTrader. We have notified IB of the problem, they have acknowledged it, and now we are waiting on a resolution from them. In anticipation that it may take IB a while to resolve this problem we have put in to place a workaround to it in NinjaTrader 7. By all reports, this workaround is effective. That said, the same workaround could not be put in to place in NinjaTrader 6.5. Moving forward, I would suggest that you upgrade to NinjaTrader 7 where this would no longer be an issue. NinjaTrader 7 is avialable for download via the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/download_download.htm

Hello,
thank you for your suggestion. Of course I will update to NT7 as soon as possible. But please give me any advice how to close my 2 open positions safely. I repeat my question: Can I use IB Workstation with the command "Close all oders"? What happens to the Ninja Trader engine? Will both trades be marked as closed in that way? I do not want to use Ninja traders action "Control Center > File > Flatten everything", because I do not trust because of the open positions in the charts. Best regards, Andreas from Germany. |

Hello Andreas,
I'd suggest managing these positions directly from TWS.
