Hi,
I created a few charts with the End Date (in Data Series) = 3/3/2010, and Days to Load = 75. However, whenever I exit and restart NinjaTrader, the End Date defaults to current day's date. Is there anyway to keep the End Date fixed? Thanks! -Nick |

Hello Nick,
You will need to save your charts part of a workspace and it will save the 'End date' as well. Once you created the charts, please go to Control Center-->File-->Workspaces-->Save Workspace. Restart NinjaTrader and the charts will reflect the 'End date' you had setup. If you create a brand new chart, the Data Series window will always reflect the current date.

Hi Jason,
I'm not having much luck with this ![]() I just tried creating a new TF chart, with an End Date of 11/3/2010, and Days to Load of 75. Once the chart has completed loading, I saved the workspace, and exited NT (saving again at the exit save prompt). When I restart NT7 into the same workspace, the chart has now defaulted to today's date (1/4/2010). I don't have any data providers set to auto-connect on startup. -Nick |

What version of NinjaTrader 7 do you have installed? You can check this at Control Center-->Help-->About. Make sure you have NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.1 installed.
If not, please download and install it from the link below. http://www.ninjatrader.com/download-registration.php

Hi Nick,
Can you provide me with a copy of that workspace? (Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Workspaces)

I am also facing the same problem when studying expired contract, even after saving workspace, each time after changing time frame, chart was not loaded. Checking the data series and the date is back to today's date.

Hello simoon,
Am I correct that the 'End date' is saved after saving your workspace without changing the time frame. Unfortunately it is as expected that the 'End date' will change if you switch time frames.

Hello Jason,
You are correct than End Date is saved if I do not change the time frame. It is a bit inconvenient need to adjust the date every time switching time frame. My solution to the problem is either change the computer clock or calculate the number of day the expired contract is from present date. eg. to view last 5 days of a 2009 Jan future I need to put "370" in days to load. If tomorrow I need to view the same contract for the same period of time, I will need to input "371". But if I need to view the first or middle 5 days of the expired contract, the days to load method does not work. |

Hello simoon,
You could make use of additional charts - one chart for each time frame you use. I see you found another workaround as well.
