I have about 10 Pats data streams in NT now but only really use a couple of them. If I eliminate the unused data streams will it cut my CPU usage (much ?) ?

It will cut CPU but CPU usage for data is very low with NT. What you can do is pull up Task Manager and see the differenc in CPU usage before and after removing some data streams.
