Hello,
I would stronly ask the Ninjatrader company to let the user descide for himself if I likes to have a dealy of data on the charts or not. The minimum delay I have to set for data to be displayed is 100ms. (properties/display update interval (sec) 0.1) For me using the chart trader, this is unacceptable. There is no other charting software that is delaying their data with a minimum amount of time, it's rediculous. It wasn't needed in 6.5, it shouldn't be needed in 7.0 Thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion and feedback. It is implemented for performance reasons. The limit we set is the natural human reaction time. So you should not be able to see any delay at all.

There is no human reaction time in my trading. I programmed a strategy.
U didn't included this delay in 6.5 and there was no problem there. |

metaltrade, the strategy's OnBarUpdate() calls are not influenced from this visual setting.

Thanks for your suggestion,
I will pass this on and ask if it can be added to the list of future considerations.

I believe that the 100 ms setting is reasonable, as it only affects the plotting of the chart. It also ensures that some trading cowboys - who overestimate their own capabilities in terms of visual reaction times - do not destabilize or freeze NinjaTrader by creating an unnecessary high CPU load, which could be the consequence, if Plot() is recalculated with every tick.
So, I think that this is a reasonable limitation, do not change it. ![]() I believe that it does not apply to the DOM, am I correct? |
