Default Charting Spreads

Hi guys,

What is the best way to chart the spread between two instruments such as silver/gold or say 10yr/5 yr bond spread?

Cheers

Matt

Unfortunately this is not supported at this time. We have that on our list though.

When you are planning the implementation of the spreads charting, please also consider a tool on the execution side (something similar to TT's spreading tool -- http://velocityfutures.com/download/autospreader.pdf).

Finally, please keep in mind my earlier suggestions regarding the utilization of the bid/ask values, including historical periods (http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/v...ad.php?t=1756). Constructing a spread formula using the last price is not precise; at a given moment the last price of one instrument may reflect the bid and the ask price on the second instrument. It's better to always use either the bid or ask for a particular instrument. Something like the crack spread (calculated using the prices of crude oil, heating oil and RBOB gasoline) would chart very erratically on a last price basis given the very wide spread on RBOB.

Thank you.

Regards,

Default Charting the ask price

Hi,
With regard to forex: Is there a plan to include the ability to chart the ASK PRICE on the chart when using a Tick chart?

It would be a lot easier to see spreads widening when trading news for instance.

thanks.
