Default Trend Lines Moving

Using beta 20, my trend lines frequently move when I scroll left and right and the scale changes. Is there a setting I need to change? Thanks.

Hello vegasfoster,

Can you please tell me if you can reproduce this behavior for each line that you draw. Please right click the line and select Properties. Check if any of the values change after you scrolled the chart as well.

Please check drawing lines in other charts as well.

It's easy to reproduce, but sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. I don't see the logic to it. On a 12 range chart it will shift up to 4 or 5 ticks, but my real concern is how much it is shifting when I switch to a bigger picture chart (e.g. 48 range) and draw lines then switch back to a smaller chart (e.g. 12 range) for trading.

Hello vegasfoster,

Did you check the values of the lines before and after scrolling in the chart? Can you please tell me if different values were displayed.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it on my end so far. Scrolling or switching intervals in a chart should not plot drawing objects at different values.

Sorry, I forgot to do that. I reinstalled and it hasn't happened so far. I will update if it does.

This is on a different computer using a completely clean install of B21 (deleted the prior folders in program files and documents). The trend line on the 6 range chart is sitting approximately 14 points higher than on the 24 range chart and 5.5 points higher than the high of the bar it passes through.

Can you please right click in both charts and select Properties. Set 'Equidistant bar spacing' to False for both charts. Do the lines now run more in synch with each other?

It's the same chart, I'm just changing the range size. If I set to false it seems to be crossing at the same point. Are you saying that trend lines don't work on range charts?

If 'Equidistant bar spacing' is set to True when using range charts, the bars are actually adjusted as per their location on the Y-axis. This causes the discrepancy you experienced.

If you set it to False, the bars are not adjusted.

Trendlines have the same problem on minute charts as well. You guys still have a lot of work to do.

Hello,

What do you mean by in other words it doesnt work? This setting is working as expected this is why we have the option to disable or enable equidistant bar spacing.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
