Is it possible to use an External data feed while using a Patsystems broker?

I like my Pastsystems broker but the polling data feed is inadequate. I assume the bracket orders that are triggered from an ATM strategy are triggered by the data feeding NT. Today I had a breakout trade go my way but by the time the braket order was sumbitted the market had already exceeded my limit profit order and had came back below with no fill.

I would like to feed NT with Tradestation data but trade with my Patsystems broker. Can this be setup?

Hi Shawn,

This is not possible. You can't connect to the External Datafeed and also have an other account connection open.

What I suggest is to sign up with OpenTick. They provide a free datafeed service you can hook up to NinjaTrader.

Unfortunately opentick does no carry Eurex - my exchange of choice.

NT also supports DTNiQ and eSignal datafeeds, which you can connect to and use for your data and also connect to Patsystems for your order execution at the same time.

Both DTNiQ and eSignal support the Eurex exchange.

It looks like DTNiQ and eSignal are my only options.

Any chance, in the future, NinjaTrader would allow an External data feed with another broker connected, no even better, a direct feed from Tradestation?

I was hopping I would not have to pay for Tradestation and NinjaTrader and eSignal.

I've used eSignal in the past and would sure like to avoid them. Perhaps I'll give DTNiQ a try.

I will send your suggestion to our development team for possible future enhancements to the NT application.

Unfortunately, at this time this is not possible since Tradestation has a proprietary platform they require you to use and does not allow for a direct feed from another order execution platform.
