Default Charts: Time Window Size Adjustment in Multi-Time Frame Charts

I have a chart template which plots both RTH and 24/7 data on different panels of the same chart window. One is a time based chart (24/7) while another chart is a tick-based chart for RTH only.

I am unable to adjust the size of the chart's visible time-window to a comfortable level. It behaves as if there are some fixed time-window size it snaps too. When I adjust the time-window using the mouse to the desired width, the scale readjusts as soon as I release the mouse button. It either zooms out to cover a significantly larger time period or zooms in to a significantly smaller time period.

I have attached two screen shots. The CLMultiSmall shows what happens when I try to bring the RTH hours only into focus by increasing the time-window. The chart time-window increases to a much larger size (higher zoom-out).

The CLMultiLarge shows what happens if I try to reduce the size of the time-window from the zoomed out level. The time-scale snaps to a zoom level which hides some of the RTH data.

I guess there are certain discrete levels which are used to define the size of the time-windows. In my situation, the difference between the two time-window size is too high.

Hello aviat72,

Unfortunately this is as expected behavior. I will forward your suggestion to support X-axis (de)compression to your liking when using multiple data series to our Development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations of the software.

Hello aviat72,

I have been informed this behavior will be changed in the next beta version. Once you (de)compress the X-axis and you release the left mouse button, the price bars will remain as you (de)compressed them.

Please test it in the next beta version that will be released in the near future and let me know if this behavior persists.
