Hi,
I am using a strategy with SetStopLoss, and using an alert mechanism to watch the market. My data is from an external source, thus I am using the External Data Feed connection. If I connect before the data source provides data(before the market opens), and there's a working stop loss order in the strategy I get the "There is no market data to drive the simulation engine" error. I've searched the forum, and it is said to be a normal behavior. My problem is that if I must "arm" the strategy before the market opens, NT cancels my stop order, and the alert mechanism will not notify me of the stop being filled. Please change this behavior, allowing a stop order to be put before any market data flows in, it would be much easier to work with NT. Thanks! |

Unfortunately there have not been changes in this regard. Real-time market data needs to be received in NinjaTrader in order to trade the sim101 account or else the error message mentioned will occur.

Hello,
It’s a great handicap the impossibility to test stop or pending orders in simulated account. I don’t understand why is so difficult to keep the order in NT until external data feed is provided, and then execute or send it. This makes the evaluation of strategies before to put them on real very difficult and dangerous...! I also would ask you to change this behavior please. Tank you. |
