If I buy the multi-broker version of NT 6.5 and have accounts with two FOREX brokers (Interactive Brokers and MB Trading), can I use both brokers to trade FOREX from the same instance of NT?
I assume that one ATM strategy could be set to run against IB and another to run against MBT. But I foresee a problem with the way connections are currently set up. NT 6.5 has a global setting for property "Quote currencies (FX) in" but the two brokers require different values: IB requires "Half PIP" http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ivebrokers.htm but MBT requires "TenthPIP" http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/support_MB.htm So I would need to use one or the other and one of the accounts would be quoting incorrectly in NT? |

Hi DaveE,
Thank you for your note. With a Multi-Broker license you will be able to connect and trade both IB and MBT at the same time, and you can run the same ATM strategy against either account. You are correct that whichever data provider you connecting to first is who will provide the real-time data. In this case you will want to go with MBT's settings since they are more granular than IB's data. However, I am not sure how IB will handle those order entries that include an extra digit, and you will want to contact them to know for certain. Otherwise, you will have to use each separately because of the way the data is individually quoted.

Thanks for the reply Ryan.
Just to confirm then, as a matter of daily practice, its recommended that I: 1) Connect to MBT first 2) Connect to the second broker (e.g. GAIN) 3) Construct ATMs tailored to the specific broker using targets and stops that match the currency as quoted (e.g. 10th pip, half pip, full pip) Does that sound correct? cheers |
