Default Problems with Zenfire Demo Data setup

I signed up for a 30 daytrial of zenfire data for use with ninja trader.

Its working live this afternoon just fine but there are 2 problems:

1) When I right click on a chart the Refresh Historical Data option is greyed out. Why is this not available to me? Your spreadsheet show that zenfire has historical data...

2) I am running a custom chart which plots bid/ask volumes separately. It is not populating with data with Zenfire. It worked fine when running data from Optimus/Vision on Friday so it is not the chart.

Hello,

Thank you for your note.

1) This probably means you are not connected to the historical data servers. Is the bottom left of you control center green?

2) I suspect that this is related to #1 above.

Yes, it is light green and says Connected-Zenfire

Problem #2 on the list is not currently present.

Problem #1 still exists, no backfilling of todays historical data

Hi,

Does the issue persist this morning?

In addition, who is your broker and what is the version you're using? Our current release is V6.5.1000.15 which you can check under Help--> About.

Yes, the issue is persisting this morning.

I did not sign up through a broker.

I downloaded and got the demo license key directly from the zenfire website.

I am running the current version 6.5.1000.15

Thank you for your reply.

Please take the following steps and let me know if historical data is still unavailable:

  • Please go to the Tools menu--> select Account Connections--> highlight the connection--> click Remove
  • Then go to the Tools menu--> select Options--> select the Misc tab--> click Repair DB
  • Restart NinjaTrader
  • Please go to the Tools menu--> select Account Connections and recreate the account connection.

If you right click in your chart, is the historical data option available or greyed out?

Do you see any error messages? If so, what do those messages report?

No, there are no error messages. Everything works fine except for that.....

I was asking you to check this because of the steps taken to delete the connection, repair the database and recreate the connection.

Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

In the message, please include the following:

1.) A link to this forum thread.

2.) Your most current trace file.
You will find the trace file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt
