Hello All,
I have been having problems running NT 7 (beta 10) on my NEW 64 bit machine. I use Zefire for data which, I have been told, is a 32 bit technology, so I can not run the 64 bit version of NT7 (beta). The question I have is: Does the 32 bit NT 7 (beta) run on a 64 bit machine? If the answer is a NO, then I will have to change the data provider & if the answer is a YES, then there is a problem with my machine and need to change that. I hope I have been clear enough in articulating my problem. Thanks in advance. Kumar

Kumar, yes - both 32 and 64 bit NT7 versions would be installed on a 64 bit system, thus you can choose which one to run (which would be 32 bit in your case for ZenFire as brokerage technology provider).

Thank you Bertrand, that settles it, I am returning the machine that I bought 2 weeks ago and look for another one.

I just discovered that Windows 7 Ultimate with a capable i7 processor (hardware assisted visualization) can run virtual XP.
This should technically enable one to run NT6.5 on a Windows 7 platform. Does any one have any experience with this? As always, much appreciate your very educative observations, comments. Thanks, Kumar |

Kamur,
I run both NT65 and NT7 on my 64 bit Win7 machine, I do not need to run it under any virtual environment. You can run it virtual if you want but it is not necessary. Win7 64 bit will run most 32 bit applications along with 64 bit ones. You cannot run NT65 & NT7 at the same time on the machine unless you run 1 in a virtual environment and 1 on the native machine. Hope this helps |

Thank you thepcmd.
I did run NT6.5 on Windows 7, and it worked fine, except that I did not get any alert sounds from the SDOM or from a strategy. These did not work for NT 7 either. It is difficult to be gazing at the charts all the time, so it is very useful to have an audible alert. Cheers, Kumar |
