Default Hey, betatesters, general impressions so far?

I see the list of improvements in the works for NT 7, and am of course enthusiastic about much of what is coming. And, of course I know that the product is still in beta and has lots of bugs and work to do at this point. And of course I also know that many people are frustrated with how long it is taking to get done.

So, ignoring all that, and just concentrating on general impressions and direction, how are the beta testers feeling? Do you think it will (eventually) rock?

It already does.

Default dont get too excited

It will take another 3 to 4 months before it will come out... Ray mentioned next year (2010). I personally am interested only in strategy analyzer... Hopefully backtesting design issues are fixed. I stepped thru my code in visual studio a few times and am convinced that some issues are not related to my code... (multi time frame multi instrument).

Sounds like you're an enthusiastic user already. Its hard to tell what its current state is from the posts, as, of course, most people post when they have a problem, not when they don't.

It is not so different to NT 6.5. The concept is the same and you won't be better trader by bying NT7. Much smoother and more consistent in its functions.

After posting this, I've read a couple of reports from beta testers with overall very positive reviews. Sounds great!

Well, "smoother and more consistent" will help me be a better trader. Looking forward to it.

Some very basic fuctions do not work properly. Fore example using fibonacci which i use heavily in my trading does not save and causes a lot of freezing. Hopefully they can work that out.

Just apply for example the Fib Retracements and customize as you need, then right click in its 'Properties' and select to 'Manage' templates, then same procedure as we have already in the ATM's for the templates...

Hi Ray...

Here is a short video re default settings on some draw tools...you want to be able to reset the default settings provided by Ninja on all tools where there are custom settings allowed....and then be able to access your particular new default settings with the hot key provided for that tool.

http://www.screencast.com/t/SxMF0WoYeYFw

I also suggested elsewhere expanding the hot key tree on all tools with custom settings so one could easily access any custom setting with a hot key of choce...this would give the draw tool library tremendous leverage.

Thanks...

Alfred,

To save the defaults you would need to right click in the Properties window and select "Manage Templates". Then you can save new Defaults into the template. I was unable to reproduce the problem message you got. Can you please confirm you are on NT7B3 for this video?
