Default primary series on a chart cannot be deleted

It seems once a chart decides a particular series is primary, you can not get rid of such series and have NT choose next series in line as primary.

Steps to duplicate:

1. Open up new chart, Add a 1 min data series for symbol ES 12-09
2. Click OK
3. CTRL-F to edit the Data Series
4. Add a 1 min data series for symbol TF 12-09
5. Select symbol ES 12-09 in lower pane of added data series
6. Click Remove
7. Error - NT refuses to remove this series from chart

Here's my proposed suggesion/solution for this problem:

* Add a button called "Make Primary" that is in between "New" and "Remove" buttons, so when you choose a series that has already been added to the chart, you can decide to alter which is the primary series, thus allowing one to quickly modify existing charts, remove former primary series from charts.

Yes, the 1st series added is the primary and can never be removed although of course, can be changed. Thanks for your suggestion for providing an option to re-assign the primary.

Actually, not all the time. It seems you can only change the contract symbol via shortcut dropdown box in upper left corner of chart. But if you wanted a contract symbol that wasn't in the default Instrument List, then you're out of luck for changing the primary series symbol.

You can still change by just typing a new instrument in the chart directly.

For example, if ZB 12-09 was not on your Default list, you could just type that into the chart and press Enter key.

Ray, You can right and can change some of the data series but not all. For example, I can type RIL that I have added to my Nifty folder and it will open the chart but if I type TATA, that I know is also in the folder a message box appears that says Error on loading chart data for 'TATA Default'': Unable to change order: Please assign an additional exchange to this instrument in the Instrument Manager TATA Default.
It is tedious to close the existing chart and then reopen a new one everytime. NT 6.5 had a nice little addition at the bottom of drop down list that lists the stock in the default folder called Format Data Series and through which you could change your chart removing the old instrument.
Could you please reintroduce that feature in subsequent releases?
Thanks,
Rajesh Nathani

An update, I tried what Ray suggested again and voila! it works! I might have mistyped it when I put in the previous post. Sorry about that!
