Hello,
I have a recurring problem with the crosshair in Ninja. I'm hoping someone can help me solve this as it's driving me nuts . I use DTN IQFeed for my data and I'm running Vista. Here is a Youtube video of my screen so you can see what I'm dealing with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_owS_NgjB4 Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this. Hello timfor,
Thank you for your post and the video, which was very helpful. The reason that your crosshair moves on all charts when moved on one is because you have the Global Crosshair enabled. What this feature does is link the crosshair on all charts that are viewing the same instrument. To disable this feature click on the icon on the top of the charts that looks like a globe and change to the standard crosshair icon.

Ryan,
I understand the global crosshair function and how it works. While the crosshair moves on all open charts when with this setting enabled and I'm moving the mouse (and I understand that)...the problem is that when I'm not moving my mouse the crosshair is jumping all over the place. This shouldn't be happening once the mouse isn't moving! I look forward to your comments. Thx Tim |

Hi Tim,
Sorry for my misunderstanding. Please go to Start Menu-->Control Panel-->Mouse and check the mouse settings, such as sensitivity. The other thing you can do is clean the bottom of the mouse, and check the batteries.

Ryan,
My mouse works fine with every other single application (including some other stock app's) I have used lately and/or is open while Ninja is open. Batteries are fresh and the mouse is a laser mouse so no cleaning is required. No need to use control panel as I've mentioned above, I have no other problems with mouse sensitivity on any other programs I use. This is clearly a NinjaTrader issue as far as I can tell. What do you recommend now? I really need this fixed. Tim |

Hello Tim,
Can you please close your open workspace by going to File-->Workspaces-->Close. On a blank workspace can you please open a new chart and use the a cursor other than the global crosshair and test if the mouse moves unexpectedly while on this new workspace and new chart. Also, can you please check your PC's display settings.

Ryan,
Did as you instructed and the regular cursor on a new chart doesn't move around. You mentioned that I should check my video settings....for what specifically? Please advise. Thx Tim |

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your reply. What intervals are your charts in? Unfortunately, I could not see this in the YouTube video.

Ryan,
I usually have six charts open at the same time in the following config's: 1 min, 3 min, 9 min, 200 tick, 600 tick and 900 tick. Plus, sometimes I'll have the daily chart open as well. I use global cursor in the "on" position for all charts. Tim |

Hi timfor,
Thank you for your reply. Please try the following: 1.) Adjust your resolution to a lower setting then test the Global Crosshair again. After the test, please feel free to move back to your original settings. 2.) Try linking just the minute charts on the Global Crosshair. Do you see the same sort of behavior?

Ryan,
Went to a lower resolution...same problem. Linked just my three separate minute charts (1, 3, 9 minutes)....same problem. Tim |

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your reply. Please open a new workspace (File > Workspaces > New Workspace) and open 3 new charts there within. Enable the global crosshair for the charts and let me know if you see the same.

Ryan,
We might have this thing finally licked!! ![]() I shut down all open charts and created a brand new chart for all my various min/tick combinations. This has fixed the problem. I saved this setup with a new workspace name. This problem has come up many times for me in the past but now at least I know that when it does I'll have to re-setup all my charts. Perhaps the workspace file gets corrupt or something....I don't know. At least I have a workaround for now. Maybe you can advise Ninja technical to look at this issue, try to replicate it, and then put in a permanent fix. Thanks for your patience and all your help....much appreciated! Tim
