Just started using the platform and am trying to connect to yahoo to access the historical data. However when I try and backtest I cannot seem to
access the data....have gone through the connect menu and selected yahoo and entered the parameters for the test but it provides no information when I try and backtest...what am I missing? Thanks in advance |

nightcountry, welcome to the forums! Which instrument and timeframe were you trying to access? Please keep in mind the Yahoo connection provides end of day equity data only - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ricalData.html

Have you tried opening up a regular chart of INTC? Does this populate as expected, please ensure you attempt to create a daily one.

Ok great, after this please disconnect from Yahoo and then try backtesting the SampleMACrossOver in offline mode on INTC then.

Thanks for the reply, do you see any errrors in the log tab of the Control Center? Do you select to run the strategy on a daily chart in the Strategy Analyzer? - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...AStrategy.html
Default would be one 1 min so you would not see any data populated for Yahoo then....

Please click on the + sign to open up the DOW or SP500 instrument lists, then right click on a stock and start your individual backtest.

If it's not in the list, right click on 'On the Fly' and enter your custom symbol then.

Right click on the 'on the fly' button, select 'Backtest', set your instrument in the 'Data Series' section then. Just click on type 'Stock' and enter the symbol then.
