Default NT7 feature wish

Not sure if this has been suggested before but the Ray type line, hand drawn on a chart would be more valuable if it could be trimmed (stop the extending) later. Another idea would be to allow it to trim itself if price hit the line.

Hello eDanny,

I will forward your suggestion to our development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations for the software.

Thank you for your feedback.

Can the ability to draw parallel trendlines be included in NT7 please?

Can you clarify the difference between...

- Draw a line
- Select it
- Right click > Copy
- Right click > Paste

and parallel trendlines?

One thing wrong with that, and I believe it has been discussed before, is that paste will not paste the line where you want. The next operation is find the pasted line and drag to where you wanted it pasted. My 2 cents.

Ray
To be truthful I didn't realise it was posible to copy & paste, but also to somewhat agree with eDanny it is a little combersome.
If there was the option in the drawing tools to choose Parellel and the drag the second line to where ever appropriate would save some messing about.
Just a thought.
Regards John

So for further clarification...

- The copy function is fine
- Instead of pasting it on a fixed canvas location --> You would rather have it paste on your cursor at which time you can move the cursor and drop the copied line where you wish?

Default historic data divisor

Hello,

I notice this under enhancements for e-signal in the NT7 announcement

- Added support for a divisor parameter in the symbol map to address incorrect price levels where needed

I assume this means if a price comes in a factor too big or small, like 100 times too big, you can have a standard correcting factor applied to it. If so, this is also desperately needed for IQFeed. I can't even use the IQ prices for a major contract - 6J, Japanese Yen, because the price comes in 100 times too big. This is a problem with IQFeed and significant digits, I believe.

If I'm right in my assumption, could this rather simple enhancement also be available for IQFeed.

thanks
Dave

Correct. I will check on IQFeed.

IQFeed will not include a divisor. This is since IQFeed has confirmed they will fix the issue you report. You would need to check with them on ETA.

Well, that's a shame, since it would presumably be fairly easy, and I'm not holding my breath on the fix. This is the last thing they said to me

We do not know when this will be done at this time. Customer requests like
this could easily be described as wish list items to be done sometime in the
future. This is not something that they would easily be able to do in a
matter of days. Since one of our other products relies on the 4 decimal
point style of data we would have to completely revamp how we distribute
data between all of our systems which could take a very long time. The
priority level that we give it is going to be directly in response to how
many people we have requesting that change and how easily it can be changed.
So far I know of 2 other people requesting the same change that you
are(there are probably others I don't know about).

The precision issue on a couple of our symbols will be corrected in the feed. The development and testing for this is already complete and all we need to do is "flip a switch" in order to go live. Unfortunately, we need to provide adequte notice to all 3rd party software before making this change as many software packages have hard-coded the divisor. Thus, when we change to the proper precision it will cause these 3rd party applications to break.
