Dear sirs
I have flagged the option Store Real-time bar data in the Option , data tab , I connect the NJ to my patsystem account before market opening , and also keep always opened my primary chart (Dax future) and a Market Analyzer window . Now obviously the chart updates nicely but if I try to open a new chart (another instrument) the plot for the current day starts from the instant I asked for the new chart, why it doesn't have any history ? Should I keep opened all charts I need to save market data? Or there is somewhere an option to instruct NJ to save the data even though no active chart is using them? Rgds |

Hi Max,
Thank you for your note. Your datafeed provider doesn't provide any historical data, they only provide live data. If you want to have historical data, you need to subscribe to a datafeed provider who does provides this. Vince

I'm not talking about historical data but about today's data which I have been receiving real time , my NJ is open and connected to my patsystem account since this morning opening so the question is why NJ didn't stored the data even though I have a market analizer window opened? My only opened chart is updated regurarely , but if I try to open another chart it just plots today's data from the moment I open it. I would like to understand how can I have available and updated all the charts I could need ... should I have all of them opened to store today's real time data? |

Max,
Since you have a datafeed provider who only provides live data, the charts will start building from the moment you open them. What you can do is to enable 'Run Market Data recorder' under Tools--> Options--> Misc tab. Then NinjaTrader will record the market every time you connect to your datafeed provider and you can start building historical data. Vince

Hi guys
![]() working in conjunction with IB I usually "market analyzer" several symbols, while I'm currently looking at a few of them, others are stored. IB provides hystorical for minutes, but not for ticks...even though with market analyzer I can store ticks data from broker and build a continuos ticks chart, w/o keeping opened the chart. Thanks Marce |

Max,
Please ignore my reply about the Market Data recorder. Just keep the charts open or use a datafeed provider like DTNiQ or eSignal. Vince

Hi Vincent
yes that's my experience , to save data , if the data feed doesn't have historical data , the only way is to have the charts opened. Anyway the online help is wrong when says (Historical Data, Overview ) "NinjaTrader Converts Real-Time Data into Historical Data NinjaTrader stores real-time incoming tick data to your local PC if you have a chart or Market Analyzer window open." The Market Analyzer window method doesn't work in my experience. Rgds. Massimo |
