I have my strategy stopping at specified profit targets or loss. Is there a way to have the strategy restart the next day via another strategy that will run it at the beginning of the day?

Hello,
The strategies cannot communicate with each other so this is not possible. However you can control when your strategy runs. This link shows an example of how to do this: http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ead.php?t=3226 Please note that it is not advisable to run your strategies unattended. Because you are using money management to determine when to run you strategy, you will also find these links helpful: http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ead.php?t=4804 http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ead.php?t=4084 They show the different techniques in using PnL for money management for the current day. The PnL resets itself each new session.

Yes, you must monitor them closely, but when testing via sim acct. I would like to have it completely auto. That way it can run on days I might not be home to start it. Thanks for the links to check out.

Hi, I would like to test a created strategy by day (not with backtest!). It shall simulate automated live-trading but it does not work. I started the NT, connected to Zen-Fire, and started the strategy and at the end of the day there were no trades. I checked the same day in "backtest" function and there were some trades.
Can anyone tell me why the strategy only work in "backtest" and not in live-trading?! (By the way I use a demo account on NT.) |

Hello,
This could happen for a lot of reasons. - Backtesting is different from forward testing. This link explains why: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...sBacktest.html Therefore your signal to trade may happen in backtesting but not in your forward testing. - Test the forward testing with SampleMACrossOver to see if any strategies will work. - If neither of these helped please debug you system. This link may help: http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ead.php?t=3418 If you need help, post some code and ask us questions and we can assist you.
