Outside Regular Trading Hours

Hi,

I have a strategy running and I have realized an order wasn’t ejected in my broker therefore the position in NT is different than in the broker.

I guess it is due to this message:

Order Event Warning:Attribute 'Outside Regular Trading Hours' is ignored based on the order type and destination. PlaceOrder is now being processed. 2109

I am working with IB.

the question is why am I having this message if the market was opened and if this could have caused that the order wasn’t submitted.

I am not sure, you would need to first check with IB since this message comes from their servers and is just passed through to NT for display.

Hi ssierra,

Can you please check what version of TWS you are currently running. You can check this under Help-->About Traders WorkStation. Ensure you have TWS 884 installed.

If so and the message persists, please contact IB regarding the message.

Thanks maybe this could be the issue. I though the last one supported was 882 that is the one I have installed.

I will update this and see what happens

We just rolled to 884 however if you were on 882 this would then not make a difference. I would check with IB.

I trade FESX futures. When an order is generated by the 'Exit on Close' rule in my Strategy (60 seconds before closing of the market) the Log-tab shows the same warning as Ssierra mentions.

Ray, are you saing this warning send by IB? My orders are being executed without problems. So it's not a real problem, I was just wondering.

Yes, this is an IB error message, not a NinjaTrader generated one.

I have the same with FGBL.

When a position is closed Stop order from opening trade is not cancelled and is active. Therefore strategy will try to trade in opposite direction.

I had to stop the strategy. This have to be investigated and addressed asap.

When position is opened - stop and limit placed. But in TWS - limit has Green status and Stop is DarkBlue.

And "Outside trading hours" warning message in NT log.

I traded quite a few contracts from NT DOM and IB and it never happened.

Obviously the way strategy places Stop/Limit is not the same as if you do it with bracket order in DOM. To make TWS generate that message NT had to create such an order in first place. So please dont reffer me back to IB. It is NT bug as DOM works as expected and the strategy does not.

Why this "Outside trading hours" attribute set anyway? It should not.

It seems an issue with NT. I had to stop the strategy with negative balance and effectively losing money not running it.

Perhaps NT is setting some attribute in order and mixing up time zones or something. They should submit a normal bracket order without any woodoo. Strategy has to be transparent. If I havent set any attributes then it not supposed to be set. End of story.
