Installing in alternative directory

when attempting to reinstall the LATEST BETA version, geez seems like what two years now since you promised a working version, well i digress, it no longer allows you to install in an alternative directory. you can point to the directory in the install routine but it just puts it into documents folder anyway.

why is that

You can install the program to an alternate location. Custom items and NinjaScript are stored in My Documents, to fit with Windows conventions for this.

doesnt pick up workspaces and templates

the reason for installing in different directory is to enable backup on regular basis of workspaces and templates, etc. any dynamic data. when you install in the alternate directory it does not point to those items and uses the defaults.

windows does not dictate the installation directory and this has worked previously.

All custom items such as workspaces, templates, NinjaScript, etc have always been stored in My Documents\NinjaTrader

yes, you can install in an alternate directory, but when you start NT7 it does not point to the my documents folders for the workspaces etc.

gosh, do you guys ever read what someone says or do you just have canned responses.

I apologize if I misread your request. We're not currently aware of issues related to installing the program to a different directory.

Please outline the steps you've done and what you're seeing - any error messages etc.
