    Replay speed alternative

Is it possible to have ninja place more importance in calculating the indicator that in keeping up the chosen replay speed, it plays havoc with CPU intensive indicators and you only find out an hour into the playback and then have to start again with a slower replay, hoping this time it will not skip.

Or maybe have a choice on playback, replay speed, or CPU usage.

    Hello deanz,

I will forward your inquiry to our development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations for the software.

    Thank you for your feedback.

Just out of interest, what happens when it can't keep up? Do events queue and crash?

Events are queued and processed one of the other.
        - no events is lost and
        - sequence is maintained

So what is the problem here? What goes wrong?

Sorry, I don't know. You would need to debug your code to find out.

Oh, actually I don't have a problem. I was just wondering how the OP problem manifests itself. If events queue, I don't see why the events coming in faster than the indicator calculate would be a problem. Unless you're trying to watch on a chart.

              thanks
              Dave

It just seems to skip the calculation and leaves a gap or 3 in the plotting of the indicator, that's what I presume it is doing cause if I slow down the replay speed I get less gaps, speed it up and I get more. If I watch the CPU usage in task manager it seems to skip when the CPU is maxed out for a split second.

Nothing crashes, it just carries on like nothing happened, which in this case is very true... ha ha.

Again, all ticks are processed. There is not a single tick skipped. I suggest trying to reproduce on a standard indicator to make sure it's not an issue in your custom code.

It pretty much only uses OnMarketDepth so does that bypass the all tick processed, process ?

Can you recommend a CPU intensive indicator you know to be reliable I can try ?

                    .

Same thing with MarketDepth events: no event is lost nor is the sequence changed. I'm not aware of any standard indicator which would exhibit the behavior you described.
