Bug When Compiling Indicators in Windows 7 x64

I've been using Windows 7 64-bit for about a week now and discovered a bug when compiling new indicators. I got the following errors:

Metadata file C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\NinjaTrader.Core.dll could not be found
Metadata file C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\WilsonORMapper.dll could not be found

However, I installed Ninja Trader to C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 6.5

I was able to resolve the issue by copying my NinjaTrader 6.5 to C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin, but I though the developers might want to know about this.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Thanks Mark and welcome to the forums - NinjaTrader 7 will add 64 bit support so we expect it would work normally then - http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/NT7/NinjaTrader7.html

Further on Windows 7 - it's itself still in beta, but inhouse testes have so far shown no issues with NinjaTrader 6.5 / 7

Yeah. I've read in other posts that Windows 7 isn't officially supported yet, and I figure this issue is more x64 related than Windows 7 itself (it probably happens in Vista x64 as well). Looking forward to NinjaTrader 7!

Mark, I have the same problem (get the same error messages) when attempting to compile NT strategies in WIN 7. Were you able to find a straightforward solution or a workaround?
        Thanks,
        Ray

          Hello,

Win7 is not supported, but 64bit won't be supported until NT7 is released...although may use it without any issues at all.

            Hi Ray,
Try copying the C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 6.5 folder into C:\Program Files\. When done, you should have:

            C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 6.5\
            C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\

Ninja Trader will still run from C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 6.5 but will use the files in C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5 when it needs to.

Alternatively, you can probably just uninstall Ninja Trader and re-install it directly into C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5. I haven't done that myself but I believe it should work.

            Hope this helps.
            Mark
