    Pivots and session templates

    Hello,

    "Pivots" indicator provided in Ninja Trader are different between 6.5 and 7 (session templates are applied if we understood correctly)

    However it seems there is a bug in 7 with Session template.

    it still calculates pivots points with the default timeframe and timezone initially defined with a session template, even after we've made changes on time frames and timezones for the session template.


    We are in french Time Zone.


    By default, the CAC40 future has a Session Template set to "Euronext CET Index Futures RTH" (8:00-18:15)
    (Instument Manager / Edit CAC40)

    We've changed the session template to :

    Session Template "Euronext CET Index Futures RTH"

    8:00 - 22:00 (Tools / Session Manager).

    (FCE CAC40 session hours are 8:00 - 22:00)

    We then corrected in the Session Manager, Time Zone GMT +1 (French timezone)


    "Pivots 7.0", still calculates pivots points with hours 8:00 - 18:15

    Is there a solution to correct this bug and get the correct pivots points calculations ??

    Unfortunately I was unable to reproduce. Can you please ensure that your chart is actually taking advantage of the new session template you have created?

    If you are still able to reproduce, please provide exact steps on how you are determining the calculations are wrong.

      Thank you for having a look. You will find screenshots and explanations in the document stored here.



      We suspect that Ninja Trader 7 doesn't handle changes in session templates for Start Time and End Time.

      In case you can't reproduce, we can plan a webinar to show you this NT 7 issue on our computers.

        To change sessions you actually have to select a new session template. If you are still holding the same session template, with changes to that template you will need to open a new chart to reflect this or switch to a different template and then back.

          I believe we've done so. We've noticed initially this issue while printing in backtesting (our strategy uses pivots). I'll double check tomorrow.
