Trade Positions - on internet connection loss

Hi Support,

During overnight trading hours with open trade positions, if for some reason ninja looses internet connection (like due to ISP connection problems or Ninja crash), will Ninja show the open trade positions (like stop and profit target) on reconnect?

Or if one has a backup computer and one uses Ninja on that to connect to internet (from another internet source), will it show the open trade positions?

Thank you for your post.

1.) Please refer to this link as this will depend on where your open orders reside: http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ead.php?t=5349
- When you reconnect, your orders should show up.

2.) It is possible to have a second computer connected, however, you will need to purchase another live license to connect to two live Ninjatraders at the same time.

Can you please clarify in the following specific situations:

1) If ninja disconnects from internet and is reconnected from the same computer (after getting internet connection back ),
a) will it be able to see the open stop and profit target orders?
b) After the reconnect, does ninja start simulating the OCO logic again for the existing orders ?


2) If ninja crashes and after restart on the same computer
a) will it be able to see the open stop and profit target orders?
b) After the restart, does ninja start simulating the OCO logic again for the existing orders ?

3) In this scenario, if one is using a backup computer. So when primary computer has issues (like internet loss or ninja crash) and ninja on backup computer is started and connected
a) will it able to see the open stop and profit target orders?
b) On the backup computer,does ninja start simulating the OCO logic again for the existing orders(which are created by the 1st computer) ?

1.) a.) Yes, as these will be loaded from the ZenFire servers or the exchange when you connect.
b.) Unfortunately since the OCO is simulated on your PC, these will not be reloaded automatically. You will have to manage these manually.

2.) Same answers as #1.

3.) a.) Yes, these will be loaded from Zen servers or exchange.
b.) Unfortunately not as explained in 1b.

I read in the link provided, that the OCO logic implementation, IB does it on its servers. So, for IB brokerage, even when ninjatrader's internet connection is lost, and reconnected, the OCO logic remains intact ?


Can the zenfire servers also implement OCO logic? Would be a nice to have feature. Can you please consider to add it to the next zenfire version or request the zenfire team.

-Unfortunately that is not available for ZenFire. This would be something ZenFire would have to add, I will send a note requesting this.
