    Parabolic SAR Strategy

    Hello,

I'm trying to create my first strategy from within the Strategy Builder. I'd like the strategy to do the following:

    1) When the Parabolic dot appears above the candle stick trigger a short buy order.

    2) When the Parabolic dot appears below the candle stick trigger a long buy order.

If someone could walk me through creating this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums!

If you haven't already please review the helpguide section on the strategy builder and there are several examples to how to create the conditions and actions. Here is a link to the section: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...gy_builder.htm

Here is a short intro video to the strategy builder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpgC...STB5vDBcC&t=6s

In addition here is a link to a recording of the strategy builder training: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCyt...We0Nf&index=11

Finally, here is a link to the live training sessions where you may ask questions: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformTraining

Based on your conditions I recommend that you review the helpguide example for the cross over conditions. In your strategy, you could have the parabolicSar cross above the price High or cross below the price low for the entry conditions.

Thanks Paul. The YouTube video was the biggest help.

Hey Tom, did you get the strategy made? If so, how'd it turn out. I thought of doing the same. Curious if it was worth the effort.
