Default Am I running 64 bit?

I'm running 7.0.1000.7 on 64 bit OS. I used to have a launch icon for each version, regular and 64 bit. Now I only have one.

I have uninstalled NT7 and installed again.

Am I running 64 bit or 32 bit version and how do I control this?

richtobey,

Are you using Windows 7? You can find the icon by clicking the "Start" menu > Type "NinjaTrader" in the "Search programs and files" area at the bottom. If you right click the "NinjaTrader (64-bit)" and select "Pin to taskbar" or "Pin to start menu" it will remain accessible.

Please let me know if I may assist further.

Default difference

Hi, what is the difference between the 32 bit and 64 bit version ? Does it give me somekind of advantage, the 64 bit version ?

I have another wuestion, if I pay a license for 3 months, and buy the Ninja Before the end of 3rd month, would it be refunded(the 180$) ? I remember there was something like this, but donīt remember the steps.

Hi Spitfire,

64 bit has a couple advantages over 32 bit:
Can use multicore processors for items like backtesting and optimization.
Can take advantage of architectural benefits, like increased memory limits per application.

The cost of any unused lease time can be applied to a lifetime license purchase. Please email sales 'at' ninjatrader 'dot' com for more information on this.

I installed it on Windows Server 2008 and there is no 64 launch icon. I followed the procedures in your email below to search for it. Perhaps you can give me the info to create it manually?

Hi,

You'll find the 64 bit .exe file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin64 folder.
It is 'NinjaTrader.exe'.

Just right click on the file and create a short cut to drag to the desktop.

Hi,

I'm investigating running NT7 on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Is this something you are doing?

If so, is it working acceptably for you?

Any insurmountable issues or problems?

Many thanks!

AnotherTrader,

It's not supported, but we don't anticipate any issues on that version of Windows, as long as you can install dot net framework.

Default 64 bit works

It works fine for me. If you use interactive brokers, there is a wrinkle. You have to point the TWS shortcut app icon to c:\windows\syswow64\javaw.exe from where they point it during install.
