Security with IB

hello,
I would connect NT to TWS only to test charting features (in a first step).
- my build of TWS is 913.6, is it OK ?
About security :
- will my IB id and password be sent over the internet by NT without using the TWS client channel ?
- will my IB id and password be stored somewhere locally or on a server by NT ?

Thank you for your post and Welcome to our Forums!

1) We recommend using TWS version 911 with the current release of NinjaTrader 7 and legacy release of NT 6.5

2 ) Your username and password are stored locally on your PC and will not be transmitted to NT servers. Your password is contained in a configuration file where it will be encrypted. You cannot connect to IB without using TWS.

Thanks for reporting that TWS version 913 works well with your configuration.

You are free to keep using version 913 if you believe it is working for you - however, if you run into any issues with data or NinjaTrader, we would recommend you uninstall and use the current supported version of TWS 911.
