    ALERT: Historical data server

    Hello.

    Seems today (July 25, 2014) we have again an issue with the historical data servers (for CL, TF, NG and HG). 6A, 6B, 6C, 6E, 6J, ES and GC are also effected. The charts are blank for the time period between around 7:15a.m. (European time) and the time of log-in.

    Would be good if someone could test it at your end and if need be alert the Server Team.

    I am able to reproduce the missing data on my end as well. I will send a report to our server team. Thank you for reporting.

      Experiencing the same problem here. 2 hours prior to the euro open are missing.

            Can you please restart NinjaTrader and re-connect to CQG/Continuum. The historical data server is recording data again as per 3:51 AM EDT. We are looking to restore the missing data this weekend.

              Hi Jason,

              Are you sure because each time I've reloaded or restarted NT the bars since euro open have been different.

              Previously I had data from 3:00am EDT (Euro open), then from 3:20am and now from 3:55am with the 2 hours preceding missing.

                Hello prudential,

                I just reloaded historical data on my end, however I cannot reproduce it. I still shows data from 3:51 AM EDT and onward. I tested FDAX, FESX and FGBL. Did you restart NinjaTrader and re-connect to CQG or Continuum?

                    Is Ninja doing something unannounced?

                    I have accounts with different brokers and none can connect this morning (7/27). It's clearly not an internet issue (as the Ninja error message says) since I am connected to this forum. It connected but would not connect to historical data servers all day yesterday (7/26).

                    What's going on? Some of us use the weekend to check charts and prepare for the upcoming week. Would appreciate any news.

                    P.S. -- It could also be a Rithmic issue since that's the single data provider I use.

                      Thank you for your post.

                      What is the error message that appears? Can you detail the message as it appears on the Log tab of the NinjaTrader Control Center when you attempt to connect?

                        As is often the case, by waiting until late Sunday afternoon (shortly before electronic opens) everything came back on magically and working properly.

                        As far as the error message, it was the standard one about "unable to connect" making sure to check the internet availability. Not the one where Ninja checks the license with the Ninja computer before it loads. But it was two completely different Brokers so it wasn't a Broker issue.

                        I suspect Rithmic was doing some weekend work.

                          Are the data servers out again?

                          I've tried to reload historical data (but that option is greyed out) & I've restarted Ninja but still no Sunday night / Monday AM data (CL 09-14).

                              I'm using NT Brokerage/CQG and am in the USA Mountain Standard time. I'm having a similar problem this morning. I have no historical data between 8:56 AM on 7/25 until I started NT this morning at 7:25 AM. This really hoses my charts and early trading because I rely on a certain amount of historical data. Also doesn't give me much confidence that things are working reliably enough for live trading.
