It seems like only 8 and a half days of Volume, MACD and stochastics are appearing on the chart. I'm using Interactive Brokers. How do I fix this?
I'm having difficulty loading 10 day charts or data for my charts so that my strategy can run properly. Looked in the guide but still not sure how to do this. I use Interactive Broker as a data provider.

Hello cdnPATRIOT,
You load data when creating a chart. Can you please go to Control Center-->File-->New-->Chart. Set Type to Day and enter a value to your liking for 'Days to load'. If you like to load 10 days of historical daily data, please enter a value of 10. Hit OK and it will load the requested data. The data you loaded is now saved in NinjaTrader. If you like to load price bars that consists of 10 days, please set Type to Day and Value to 10. Subsequently enter a value for 'Days to load'. You can also load historical data via Control Center-->Tools-->Historical Data Manager-->Download-tab. More information can be found at the link below. http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...7/download.htm

It seems like 10 days includes non-trading days. Is there a way to set the days to 10 but not have to worry about counting out the weekend days?

I don't think there's a way to do that, but you can use session templates to only display week days if that would help at all.

The days to load are calender days. You can use a session template to exclude non trading days, however the "Days to Load" will still refer to calender days.

By session template do you mean switching it from RTH to ETH?

Either one of those would work.
What I mean is if you used a session template such as the Default 24/7, it will display a period from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon when the market is closed. Using a session template such as the US CME Index Futures ETH or RTH session template will only display data for market hours.

I'm using the US Equities RTH however, to get three days I have to enter five days but it gives 3 and a fraction of another day. For 15 days I get 10 days chart. This is what's occurring and so far can't seem to fix it. I can't find the default 24/7 choice.

The days to load will always be based on calender days, regardless of the session template you used.

-Wed (today) -Tues -Mon -Sat (no data) -Sun (no data) --so 3 days of actual data. If you loaded 15 days today, it would give you -Wed (today) -Tues -Mon -Sat (no data) -Sun (no data) -Fri -Thurs -Wed -Tues -Mon -Sat (no data) -Sun (no data) -Fri -Thurs -Wed (8/15) --so 11 days of actual data I'm not sure why the Default 24/7 template doesn't appear for you, though. |
