Default Scrolling through and instrument list

Is there a way to scroll through an instrument list going from chart to chart?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

I'm not sure what you mean, but you can start typing the contract name in the chart so a small instrument window will open. When you have typed in the contract and hit enter, the chart should automatically update to the selected chart.

Let me know if this is the answer you're looking for.

Hi Vince,

I have a watchlist I imported into an instrument list I created called watchlist. I can go to the chart icon and with the instrument list of stocks I imported it display's the first stock in that list. To reveiw them quickly using the template technicals on the chart I would like to scroll through the stocks in the list. I was wondering if that feature existed or do I have to select each one?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott,

Try this:
- Right click in the Chart and select 'Format Data series'
- Under Type select your instrument list
- Now click on the dropdown window under 'Name' and you should be able to scroll through your list

Ninja Trader really needs the option to keep a watchlist, like Quote Tracker has. That would really add a lot.

Hello cbratton,

You can use the Market Analyzer to watch a list of instruments. Please see the link below for more information.

I tried this but the drop down list in the chart did not change to the list I selected. The drop down list remained as the Default List,

If the attached png file, I attempted to select the list entitled: <UMT Stocks>, which is a list I created in the Instrument Manager.

Thanks,
Ben

The drop down list in the chart itself will only display your default instrument list. Only the Format Data Series window can access additional created instrument lists.

That seems like an unnecessary limitation. Can it be changed to allow access to all instrument lists?

Is there a way to copy symbols from one list into another list? If so, I would copy my existing Default list into another list and then copy a third list into my Default list.

Thanks,
Ben

Hello Ben,

I will forward your suggestion to our development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations for the software.

Please see the link below for instructions how to add and remove instruments from instrument lists.
