hi
where can I find more in depth information about strategy settings and what they do. E.G. synchronize, wait until flat, and other settings. I only find the ninja trader online guide has very limited information about the settings on ninja trader and what they do. support usually sends me a link to the guide. I dont find this helpful Are there any other resources to help me understand Ninja Trader ? thanks shane |

hi
it is many things. As you go along, you always come upon new challenges, and it would be nice to have a reference manual or something with more in depth information. A manual of who,what,where,when and why, so to speak. Ninja trader for dummies sort of thing for people like me . For instance, I have 2 identical strategies with one set to synchronize on strategy enable and the other is not. On a disconnect and reconnect, one of the strategies has a long position with -500 unrealized gains, but there is no long position under the positions tab. I would like to understand what happened. It is things like that where I do not get clear answers from support. I feel that more in depth information about that setting would be helpful. shane |

This would occur if you have ' Immediately submit live working historical orders' on the strategy and the strategy detected it would be in position had it been running during the time the signal would have been processed.
A strategy position and account position are not the same. What you're seeing is a historical order detected by the strategy that was not submitted to the live account. Have you reviewed the information from the following link as it is very detailed and runs through every possible combination of these settings and how the strategy will behave: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h..._positions.htm If the information on that link does not offer the clarification you're missing, please detail exactly what you're not understanding and I'd be happy to clarify
