Add flag to Trend Channel tool...

Often with the Trend Channel tool, the end of the parallel line will be some distance above the top or below the bottom of the chart....adding an adjustable vertical flag to the end of the parallel line would enable one to easly see where the end of the parallel line is in relation to the chart...

A minor additional note on this idea...(when you may get around to this...)

When adjusting the height on the flag...have the flag always snap to precisely vertical upon completion of the desired height...
it is very easy when adjusting by hand to set this line to other than vertical...this will then be apparent on more finely scaled charts .....

And...perhaps have an on / off button for the flag feature...



An additional question...has Ninja ever considered a pay for immediate programming option on items with tracking numbers...?

Say on something like this flag idea....an individual user could request an estimate from Ninja on what it would cost to implement for the next release...this would then also be made available to all users if implemented through such a pay for programming scheme...and perhaps there would be a way to have other users join in sharing the cost for immediate programming of any particular idea with a tracking number ....my feeling is that something like this could be fairly popular (??...)....on this flag idea the tracking number is 1289...one wonders how long it may take to implement in the normal way....look forward to Ninjas feedback on this pay for programming idea....
also...maybe a rough estimate of time to implement something normally could be provided by Ninja....then one could decide if paying for immediate programming would be worth it vs waiting for Ninja to implement....

Thinking a bit more on this proposed flag idea....would also like to add an alert on the vertical flag if this could be a Ninja consideration....with the user option of setting the alert "X" seconds before the flag....such an alert would be really helpful to notify that the flag at the end of trend channel parallel line was approaching....

Also...a bit curious...possibly any NT feedback so far on the pay for immediate programming idea suggested below...??....

Here is a minor variation on this suggested flag idea on the trend channel....have a small vertical tab on the right end of the parallel line...this could then be extended by the user either up or down where the end of the parallel line may be above or below the chart boundary, (or where the end of parallel line may not be close to the chart), and one may want to easily see where the end of the parallel line is in relation to the chart....

In screen shot tab is shown at A...extended tab shown at B where end of parallel line is above chart....tab would always snap to vertical upon extending....tab could be set to a seperate color or transparent if desired...

Here is another idea on an automatic flag on the Trend Channel tool...
when the setup line is sloping up add a flag at the end of the new parallel line that would span from the top of the line to the bottom of the line vertically....(and similarly the reverse when the setup line is sloping down)...that way you will automatically get a flag chart marker where the parallel line may extend above or below the chart ...(or where the parallel line end may be some distance from the chart action)....example attached below....and with this method the flag will then also auto adjust and move when one may adjust the set up line or parallel line.

Of course occasionally you will want your flag moving vertically in an opposite direction from the suggested automatic placement from the end of the parallel line (see example of normal placement in screen shots below) and in that case the user could manually rotate the flag as desired.....flag length can also be manually adjusted....

As it is now this would save the time drawing a flag by hand after one had adjusted the chart to see the end of the parallel line....and save time redoing the vertical marker whenever the setup is moved...flag can be on or off in tool properties...

All in all....feel this may be the best graphic solution suggested in this particular area so far...
